Biography
Praised for his impressive higher register and rich tone, Latin American baritone, Erik Gudiel-Parrales is ready to make his mark in the opera world.
Erik holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University where he also specialized in biological sciences and started his business, Icarus.
During his studies, he performed the roles Jack in Three Penny Opera, Stagehand in Masterclass, Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro, Georg Nowack in She Loves Me, and Gomez Addams in The Addams Family.
Erik has worked as a music director for St. Aloysius Catholic Church and performed regularly in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas. He taught for the Palacios House of the Arts as a choir and voice instructor.
Erik is currently pursuing a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy. During his studies he has performed as L’Horloge Comtoise in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilege, Count Danilo in the Merry Widow, and Guglielmo Cosi fa tutte.
